Information on our charges
North City Physiotherapy is an ACC contracted accredited clinic and is able to initiate an ACC claim for your injury. ACC provides partial funding for treatment — this means a co-payment (surcharge) is required for each appointment. Initial appointments are normally 30-40 minutes in duration and follow-up appointments vary between 30-40 minutes in duration depending on the complexity and time required for the physiotherapist to treat you.
To be eligible for ACC support, your injury must result from an accident — defined as a specific event or series of events that causes injury. ACC covers everyone in Aotearoa New Zealand, including visitors, and even those injured overseas while on a New Zealand holiday or business trip.*
The ACC pay PART of your treatment cost and then we charge a co-payment
*For more information got to the ACC website – here
Payment Policy
North City Physiotherapy operates as a fee-for-service clinic, meaning payment is required on the day of treatment.
We accept Eftpos, credit card, cash, or same-day online transfer.
We do not offer credit accounts.
If you’re experiencing financial difficulty, please let us know — we’ll do our best to support you.
Our Physiotherapy Team & Fee Structure
We’re proud to have a diverse and experienced team of physiotherapists. Our tiered fee structure reflects their training and expertise — but rest assured, when you see one of our physiotherapists, you benefit from the collective knowledge of our entire team through regular case reviews and collaboration such as second opinions.
Our Physiotherapy Team comprises of:
Staff Physiotherapists: Staff Physiotherapists hold a minimum university bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy with some holding double degrees in other areas e.g. nutrition, anatomy, biochemistry, physiology etc. Usually they are under 5 years of clinical experience.
Senior Physiotherapists: Senior Physiotherapists are experienced clinicians, often hold post graduate qualifications, and have completed many postgraduate courses. They are experienced in years of practice working with musculoskeletal many patients and presentations and have vast knowledge. All Senior Physiotherapists have a mentoring role in our clinic.
Lead Physiotherapists: Highly experienced practitioners with advanced postgraduate education and extensive clinical backgrounds in private practice, hospitals, and sports teams (including elite athletes). They provide case reviews, complex assessments, second opinions, and mentoring across our clinics.
Lead Physiotherapists (Post Graduate): These physiotherapists have both extensive experience but have a post gradudate in their field of expertise. These range from rehabilitation to sports medicine. They have also completed many postgraduate courses at an advanced level and have post graduate qualifications. They have worked in many settings from hospitals, private practices, sports teams (including elite athletes) locally, across New Zealand and internationally. These physiotherapists are very much involved in management of our clinics, providing second opinions, reviewing cases, presenting, treating complex presentations, and mentoring our team.
Pelvic Health Physiotherapist: Pelvic floor rehabilitation is performed by an expert physiotherapist at North City Physiotherapy. Pelvic health physiotherapists are specially trained to assess and treat a wide range of pelvic floor problems in women and men such as incontinence, organ prolapse, painful sexual intercourse and pelvic pain.
Vestibular Physiotherapist: Our Vestibular Physiotherapists are knowledgeable in the assessment and treatment of dizziness, vertigo, and balance disorders caused by inner ear or neurological conditions. Through detailed assessment, repositioning maneuvers, and customised rehabilitation programs, we help you restore balance, reduce dizziness, and regain confidence in your movement.
Cancellation/ No Show Policy
Our goal is to ensure you are successful in your rehabilitation.
In order to achieve the best possible outcome, it’s important to attend your scheduled appointments as part of your treatment plan that we develop together.
We put 💯% of our effort into your rehabilitation, so we hope to get 💯% commitment from you. We reserve the time in our schedule specifically for you, so we ask for your cooperation by making every effort to keep and attend your scheduled appointments. No-showing or late cancelling an appointment not only affects your treatment plan and recovery, but also leaves an unpaid hole in your therapist’s schedule, and more importantly prevents other patients from getting treatment who could have utilized the time-slot.
But we aren’t heartless robots! 🤖 We understand life can be hectic and unforeseeable events can pop-up suddenly that require you to change or miss your appointment, so we can waive these fees in certain situations. However, if you’ve cancelled last minute or no-showed on a number of occasions, we will require you to pay any outstanding fees prior to booking more appointments.
It’s also important to understand that your pain may fluctuate over the course of treatment and before completing your treatment plan. We know it can be really tough at times to get things done if you’re experiencing increased pain, but you should keep your appointment whenever possible – there are plenty of things we can do to help lessen your pain. It also allows us to better understand your pain and see it in all its different (glorious?) forms. Likewise, if you’re experiencing decreased pain, keeping your appointment will improve your chances of a full recovery and help prevent or lessen future episodes.
Our Policy:
-
We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or changes.
-
Missed or late-cancelled appointments will incur:
-
ACC patients: a fee equal to the ACC co-payment, or
-
Private patients: 50% of the private session fee.
-
-
These fees cannot be charged to ACC or insurance providers and must be settled before your next visit.
If you’re late, we’ll do our best to see you within your remaining time. Extended sessions may not be possible and, in some cases, may need to be rescheduled.
Southern Cross Easy-claim

If you’re a Southern Cross Health Insurance member, you can claim instantly at the time of your appointment — no forms, no waiting.
