Information on our charges

North City Physiotherapy is an ACC contracted accredited clinic and is able to initiate an ACC claim for your injury.  ACC treatment is partially subsidised. There is a surcharge payable with each appointment. Initial appointments are normally 40 minutes in duration and follow-up appointments vary between 20-40 minutes in duration depending on the complexity and time required for the physiotherapist to treat you.

North City Physiotherapy is a fee-for-service clinic, meaning we collect payment on the day of treatment. We do not operate a credit policy. Payment can be via eftpos, credit, cash or same-day online transfer.

If you are unable to pay for your consult in full please don’t hesitate to let us know so that we can arrange a payment plan for you. If finances are a barrier to you accessing our service then please let the team know when making our booking.

Different Physiotherapists Charges

At North City Physiotherapy we have a large team of physiotherapists who are dedicated to helping you recover optimally. We have varying levels of experience within our team and due to this we have put in place a tiered fee structure.

Know this, when you see any one of our staff you are not just seeing that one physio, but getting the collective expertise and skill of our entire team as we believe in colloaboration & second opinions to ensure you get the best possible rehabilitation.

Our Physiotherapy Team comprises of:

Staff Physiotherapists: Staff Physiotherapists hold a minimum university bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy with some holding double degrees in other areas e.g. nutrition, anatomy, biochemistry, physiology etc.

Senior Physiotherapists: Senior Physiotherapists are experienced clincians, often hold post graduate qualifications, and have completed many postgraduate courses. They are experienced in years of practice working with musculoskeletal many patients and presentations and have vast knowledge. All Senior Physiotherapists have a mentoring role in our clinic.

Lead Physiotherapists: These physiotherapists have extensive experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis and rehabilitation. They often hold postgraduate qualifications and have completed many postgraduate courses at an advanced level. They have worked in many settings from hospitals, private practices, sports teams (including elite athletes) locally, across New Zealand and internationally. These physiotherapists are very much involved in management of our clinics, providing second opinions, reviewing cases, presenting, treating complex presentations, and mentoring our team.

Lead Physiotherapists (Post Graduate): These physiotherapists have both extensive experience but have a post gradudate in their field of expertise. These range from rehabilitation to sports medicine. They have also completed many postgraduate courses at an advanced level and have post graduate qualifications. They have worked in many settings from hospitals, private practices, sports teams (including elite athletes) locally, across New Zealand and internationally. These physiotherapists are very much involved in management of our clinics, providing second opinions, reviewing cases, presenting, treating complex presentations, and mentoring our team.

Pelvic Health Physiotherapist: Pelvic floor rehabilitation is performed by an expert physiotherapist at North City Physiotherapy. Cancellation/ No Show Policy

Our goal is to ensure you are successful in your rehabilitation.
In order to achieve the best possible outcome, it’s important to attend your scheduled appointments as part of your treatment plan that we develop together.

We put 💯% of our effort into your rehabilitation, so we hope to get 💯% commitment from you. We reserve the time in our schedule specifically for you, so we ask for your cooperation by making every effort to keep and attend your scheduled appointments. No-showing or late cancelling an appointment not only affects your treatment plan and recovery, but also leaves an unpaid hole in your therapist’s schedule, and more importantly prevents other patients from getting treatment who could have utilized the time-slot.

But we aren’t heartless robots! 🤖 We understand life can be hectic and unforeseeable events can pop-up suddenly that require you to change or miss your appointment, so we can waive these fees in certain situations. However, if you’ve cancelled last minute or no-showed on a number of occasions, we will require you to pay any outstanding fees prior to booking more appointments.

It’s also important to understand that your pain may fluctuate over the course of treatment and before completing your treatment plan. We know it can be really tough at times to get things done if you’re experiencing increased pain, but you should keep your appointment whenever possible – there are plenty of things we can do to help lessen your pain. It also allows us to better understand your pain and see it in all its different (glorious?) forms. Likewise, if you’re experiencing decreased pain, keeping your appointment will improve your chances of a full recovery and help prevent or lessen future episodes.

Our Policy:

We require at least 24 hours’ notice to change or cancel an appointment. Clients who do not attend a scheduled appointment or who change/cancel their appointment within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment will be responsible a no show or late cancellation free of $30. This charge cannot be billed to ACC or insurance providers and must be paid on or before your next visit.

If you are late for an appointment, you will be seen as soon as possible, and for the length of time remaining in your appointment. We may be able to spend a few extra minutes with you, but this will depend on your therapist’s schedule. It may also mean we need to cancel and reschedule your appointment and a late cancel fee may be charged (as stated above) at the discretion of your therapist.
